Project: Storage Dome
Client: Illinois Cement
Artisan Contracting served as the design/build general contractor on this project, which consisted of constructing a pneumatically filled 80,000-ton storage dome. This dome has a new Cambelt withdrawal system that conveys the finished cement to a new Aumund Bucket Elevator, which then transports it to a new 300-ton storage silo. The product is then withdrawn from the silo by means of a new air-slide distribution system. This system supplies a new automated dual truck load-out system that features dual scales and is enclosed by a new Butler building. All electrical integration software and programming was also included. The added storage capacity allows the customer to operate an additional three months during slow winter sales.
